Primary Conservation Objective
The primary conservation objective is to protect the water quality of the Green River and tributaries located on the property. Ideally the tract would be converted to native grasses with a forested riparian corridor.

Biodiversity Highlights
The Green River Conservation Area consists of the upper Green River, its tributaries and portions of Mammoth Cave National Park. This watershed is among the most significant of aquatic ecosystems in North America. Its unique landscape features (including much karst topography), habitat diversity, and geographic location have combined to form one of North America's centers for endemism and biodiversity. The Green River site supports nearly 60 species of freshwater mussels (including Kentucky's only endemic mussel species), 109 fish species (including seven endemics and at least 12 globally rare fishes), and a number of rare, threatened, or endangered plants and other animals.

Qualifications and Restrictions
Restrictions on the property will include no commercial or residential development, no new roads, no timbering and no activities that negatively affect water quality.
