Childs Meadow is a 1,440-acre ranch located less than 10 miles from Lassen National Park in northern California. The ranch features pristine meadows, 4 1/2 miles of creek frontage and pine forests.

Primary Conservation Objective
Childs Meadow is a key property within TNC's Lassen Foothills Project. This ranch is in the headwaters area for Deer Creek, one of the most important salmon streams in California.

Biodiversity Highlights
This ranch provides habitat for the largest migratory deer herd in California and a wide variety of bird species. It also features 4 1/2 miles of frontage on Gurnsey Creek which is the head-waters for Deer Creek, one of the most imporant wild salmon streams in California.

Qualifications and Restrictions
No subdivision, mining, introduction of non-native species. One homesite permitted, limited grazing permitted. A 2-acre area along the highway that is zoned commercial may be developed with certain compatible uses.
