Recycle Batteries
They’re so small, so convenient and so full of power. And so easily disposable, too. But that little battery is so full of heavy metals and toxic chemicals that throwing them in the trash only raises the risk that they’ll be burned in a waste combustion facility or that their chemicals will leach into our soil and water.
So take that little cell of power and plop it into a container on your desk, table or counter – anywhere that’s convenient – and next time you’re on your way to the local hardware store, bring those batteries and recycle them.
- 1
Create a spot at home to collect batteries when they die.
- 2
Take that collection to a place where they can be recycled.
- 3
Let us know you've done it and share the news with your friends.
Those little packages can have a big impact of you don't dispose of them responsibly.
