Migratory songbirds return and a multitude of wildflowers bloom in a variety of habitats, from lush canyon bottoms to Ponderosa pine woodlands. Volunteers help conduct inventories and stay at the preserve.
Male blue grouse dance and display in their courtship for a mate. Visitors may view the display in the morning and evening each day from a close distance.
Coming down from the Bighorn Mountains, bull and cow elk numbering in the hundreds may be seen and heard among the sagebrush, juniper and Ponderosa pines. An incredible site and sound for visitors.
