Event: Songbirds Arriving
Where: Brush Creek Preserve
When: Late April through early May
Brush Creek is a southern West Virginia preserve with a spectacular view of the Bluestone River Gorge.

The preserve is open to the public, and all are welcome to enjoy the sights of blooming trillium and visiting songbirds.

Event: Songbirds Migrating
Where: Pike Knob Preserve
When: Early May
Early May is peak time to see colorful Migrating birds at West Virginia's scenic Pike Knob Preserve. Yellow, yellow-throated, magnolia and blackburnian warblers are just a few of the species that can be found at this spectacular site that also features a virgin red pine forest, open fields, sandstone cliff outcrops and an unusual grass bald community.

Located in Pendleton County and open to the public.

Event: Endangered Indiana Bats Hiberation
Where: Piercy's Cave
When: September 1
This cave, owned by the West Virginia Chapter in Greenbrier County, supplies nesting for the federally endangered bat during the cold winter.

Closed to the public.
