At the beginning of the rainy season, groups of the yellow poui trees flower in different parts of Soberania National Park. This event takes place once a year and lasts approximately a week.
Groups of American wigeon, blue-winged teals and lesser scaup, coming from North America, arrive at the Alajuela Lake to feed and rest on their way south.
Broad-winged, Swainson's hawks and turkey vultures migrate across Panama. Sometimes it is easy to see straggling groups of young hawks on the forest area of Chagres and Soberania National Parks.
About 35,000 brown pelicans arrive at the Wildlife Refuge in Taboga-Uraba from North America. It is possible to see courtship and mating in addition to feeding behavior.
