Where: Gila Riparian Preserve in southwestern New Mexico
When: May through August
The riparian forests of the Gila River Valley support some of the highest densities of breeding birds in North America. During the spring and summer months, visitors to the Conservancy's Gila Riparian Preserve can glimpse a variety of neotropical birds including common black-hawks, summer tanagers, vermillion flycatchers, southwest willow flycatchers, yellow-billed cuckoos, elf owls, Lucy's warblers, Abert's towhees, brown-crested flycatchers and Gila woodpeckers.

Open to the public.
