Event: Scarlet Macaws Reproducing
Where: Maya Forest
When: January through March
Scarlet macaws are disappearing from the Mayan Biosphere Reserve because of deforestation and illegal capture for the pet market. ARCAS has started a reproduction program using scarlet macaws that are confiscated from poachers. The main goal of this project is to breed the scarlet macaw and reintroduce them to the Mayan Biosphere Reserve.

Closed to the public.
