The property is or will be encumbered by a conservation easement as described below.
This 300+ acre property is located in the Polly's Bend of the Kentucky River. It boasts 1100 feet of road frontage on Polly's Bend Road and 2.5 miles of frontage on the Kentucky River. In addition, the tract contains 250 acres of woodland and 50 acres of fallow pasture/cropland.
The primary conservation objective is to protect the water quality of the Kentucky River.
The Kentucky River Palisades Conservation Area contains a continuous strip of forest, several unusual natural communities (mostly associated with outcrops and caves), and many rare species. This is an area with a relatively wide forest corridor along the river, some extensive gentle uplands as well as steep slopes, extensive tributary ravine forests, and representation of virtually all the rare species known in the area. The White Oak Creek area within the Kentucky River Palisades Conservation Area contains a block of forest that is relatively large and that extends up to half a mile from the river, making this among the best forested sections of the central Palisades. There are several high cliffs and also some low ones along the river bank itself.
Restrictions on the property will include limited residential development and no activities that negatively affect water quality.
