Sonoran Desert Ecoregional Plan: Gathering Information
The team accessed a variety of information sources, including:
- Species-occurrence data from Natural Heritage Program databases; and
- Spatially referenced data on vegetation, land use, hydrography, topography, and land management.
To fill data gaps and obtain the most current knowledge, the team convened an “experts” workshop of more than 100 scientists and natural resource managers from public agencies, academic institutions, conservation organizations, Native American tribes, and private individuals living and working in the Sonoran Desert.
