We're working with you to make a positive impact around the world in more than 30 countries, all 50 United States and your backyard. Support our work
By the planet’s measure, 60 years is barely a moment in time. But by the measure of our own lives, six decades is a substantial span. Time enough to make an impact that matters now and for the future.
In 1951 a small group of men and women of vision imagined that together they could make a difference. Soon thereafter, at New York’s Mianus Gorge—our founding act of land conservation—we began The Nature Conservancy’s tradition of pragmatic, effective action. Now, building on that spirit and on their legacy, our reach is greater and our aspirations bolder than ever.
Today we are working in thousands of places around the planet, addressing global challenges: conserving critical lands, securing fresh water, restoring our oceans, and reducing the impacts of climate change. We are saving lands and waters around the world for people and for nature. We are demonstrating that nature has value—and that saving it makes people’s lives better, safer, and more prosperous.
