The Nature Conservancy and Gazelle are partnering to support the Plant a Billion Trees campaign and to raise awareness of the importance of reusing and recycling consumer electronics. In honor of Earth Month, for every electronics trade-in made through Gazelle’s website in April 2013, Gazelle will contribute $1 to Plant a Billion Trees, with a minimum contribution of $25,000.
According to a 2009 EPA report, more than 10 billion pounds of unwanted consumer electronics are stored in U.S. households. In a recent consumer survey, Gazelle found that more than half of Americans have an old or unwanted smartphone sitting in a drawer. By raising awareness of the value and reuse opportunities of unwanted devices, we can keep more of these products out of landfills.
Gazelle provides an easy, fast and safe way for consumers to get cash for their unwanted devices. Gazelle takes the risk and effort out of selling electronic gadgets online with benefits such as free shipping and packaging and comprehensive identity and data removal. To date, Gazelle has accepted more than one million trade-ins, helping consumers upgrade to the latest technology, earn cash and keep electronics out of our landfills.April 04, 2013
