Primary Conservation Objectives
The Nature Conservancy has protected more than 28,000 acres in the Dragon Run and adjoining Mattaponi watersheds with a focus on water quality protection and the health of the Bald cypress swamps in Dragon Run. TNC has purchased land and holds easements that protect and maintain high integrity riparian buffers and intact forest interior habitat.

Permitted uses: One home site, timber management and recreational uses. Prohibited uses: Commercial agricultural and other commercial uses. Other: Vegetated riparian buffers required.
