Our Partners in Conservation

Soon more than 9 billion people will share our planet and all the precious resources on which we depend. Humanity’s ingenuity is lifting billions out of poverty, but increasing demands for food, water and energy are pushing nature to its limits. The security of nature and people is intertwined. The decisions all of us make today will determine whether the legacy we leave to our children and grandchildren is a healthy or depleted world.

The Nature Conservancy believes that nature and people can thrive together. We know that by bringing people together we can create a new vision for the planet—one powered by a virtuous cycle, where we take care of nature so that nature can take care of us.

Guided by strong science, we are partnering with business, governments, private investors, indigenous people and local communities, and other organizations around the world to put into action the innovations needed to achieve this new vision.

One of our core values is respect for people, communities and cultures. That value guides our work around the world. Our goal is to create non-confrontational, pragmatic solutions to conservation challenges that respect everyone’s rights and interests.

The Nature Conservancy’s local-to-global approach uniquely positions us to take on the most complex challenges facing the planet. Our place-based projects in over 69 countries serve as living laboratories where new ideas to protect nature are tested and perfected. We engage businesses and governments in delivering these on-the-ground results, demonstrating how these innovations can transform how our food, water and energy are produced. And, by empowering people with solutions that work, we inspire the kind of action that brings lasting prosperity for people and nature around the globe.
