Desiree Herrera

National LEAF Program Coordinator

Desiree Herrera has been with The Nature Conservancy for 4 years. Prior to her position with the LEAF Program, she worked with the Philanthropy branch of The Nature Conservancy in New York.

A native New Yorker, she majored in Environmental Studies at Oberlin College in Ohio, where she lived after graduation before returning to New York City to be closer to her parents and their Cuban cooking. She especially enjoys working with the incredibly diverse LEAF interns, many of them first-generation Americans like herself.

In her spare time, Desiree enjoys fencing, vermicomposting, circus arts classes, digital photo editing, science fiction and candy making.
